Unmanned Surface Vehicles The navy weapon of the 21st century Ukraine, while having practically no navy, managed to reduce ever-glorious Russian Black Sea Fleet to the size of a small flotilla, which had to abandon its main base in Sevastopol, move to Novorossiysk, and is now considering moving further away from Ukrainian shores. Ukraine also eliminated for good a threat of the Russian landing operation by Russian forces. This success was achieved by Ukrainians by the means of use of new indigenously developed maritime drones and (in some cases) anti-ship missiles. Russian Northern and Pacific Fleets (and China navy) operate sister-ships of the already sunk Black Sea navy capital ships, some of which were built in Ukraine, and are well known for Ukrainians. Ukrainians are also familiar with the Russian defence tactics against maritime drone attacks.
